A Deeper Look at Substance Use: Ambivalence, Harm Reduction & Cannabis

This training offers a compassionate, practical approach to understanding substance use and supporting clients and families impacted by it. Clinicians will explore the function of substance use, recognize when use may be becoming problematic, and learn how to approach these conversations without shame or judgment. The training will also cover ambivalence, harm reduction, family dynamics, boundaries, and strategies for supporting meaningful change, with a focused discussion of cannabis/marijuana use and its unique clinical considerations.

The training will be led by Arielle Seidler, founder of (Re)Connect Therapy Center. Arielle spent 10 years working in addiction treatment as an individual therapist, family program developer, and Clinical Director. Drawing on this experience, she brings a practical and relational approach to helping clinicians feel more confident working with individuals and families impacted by substance use.
