Who We Work With

For people navigating trauma, stress, and the weight of survival

Moxie Healing Collective supports clients throughout Maryland who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. Many arrive carrying more than anyone realizes. They may be navigating trauma, chronic stress, grief, burnout, or relationship patterns that leave them unsure how to trust themselves or feel safe in their own bodies.

Our clients want more clarity, steadiness, and emotional regulation. They want to understand the roots of their patterns and begin healing in a way that feels compassionate and doable. They value honesty, warmth, and real support that does not minimize the courage it takes to heal. They are drawn to therapy that is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in human connection.

Our Specializations

Compassionate care for trauma, anxiety, and complex stress

Our practice focuses on trauma-informed therapy for clients working through trauma, PTSD, C PTSD, relational wounds, and long term patterns shaped by chronic stress. We support people who feel stuck in survival mode, overwhelmed by emotions, or caught in cycles they want to change. Many of our clients appear steady on the outside while feeling exhausted, shut down, or on edge internally.

We offer integrative trauma therapy that blends EMDR, Internal Family Systems, DBT, CBT, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and relational support. This approach helps clients understand their inner world, create more safety in the nervous system, and move toward healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

Our areas of focus include trauma and complex trauma, anxiety and overwhelm, chronic stress, attachment concerns, boundary challenges, emotional neglect, and healing from environments that were confusing, unstable, or unsafe. We help clients gently name what they have been carrying and begin building grounded self trust and internal stability.

Our Approach

A steady, relational, and trauma-informed path to healing

Our work is grounded in emotional safety and a collaborative relationship. We take time to understand your story and begin with stabilization that supports your nervous system. From there, we weave EMDR, IFS, DBT, CBT, mindfulness practices, and somatic grounding in ways that honor your pace and what your body is ready for.

Therapy with us is a partnership. We listen closely, reflect with care, and offer tools that help you understand yourself with more clarity and compassion. We name the hard things without minimizing the courage it takes to heal. You are never expected to rush or push beyond your limits. Instead, we walk with you as you build the internal safety and self trust needed for deeper healing.

Relationships are central to our work. Healing happens when you feel connected, understood, and supported. Whether you come for individual therapy, trauma therapy, or a group, we create a grounded space where you can slow down and reconnect with the parts of yourself that are ready to heal.

Rebecca Cooney, LCSW, Founder and Trauma-Informed Therapist

Rebecca is known for her warm, grounded presence and her ability to help clients feel safe enough to look within and explore the deeper layers of their experience. She brings compassion, honesty, and steadiness to every session, helping clients feel understood and supported as they begin the courageous work of healing.

Rebecca practices integrative trauma therapy that combines EMDR, Internal Family Systems, DBT, CBT, mindfulness-based approaches, and relational therapy. Her work centers on nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and reconnecting people with a grounded and authentic sense of self.

Her path into this work comes from a deep belief that healing is possible when people are met with real care and the right kind of support. Rebecca created Moxie Healing Collective as a place where clients do not have to minimize their experiences or explain why things feel hard. She built the practice to be a home where healing feels safe, where therapists feel supported, and where every person is treated with dignity and compassion.
